FORTHCOMING EXHIBITIONS

timeFRAME: Works from the first 3 and last 3 years of the Taylor/Jones collection.

September 2017

For its second exhibition in 2017, opening in August, JAHM will present more than 40 works from the outstanding collection of Canberra couple Susan Taylor and Peter Jones.

The exhibition, titled timeFRAME,  includes works acquired from the 2000 to 2003, the first three years of Susan and Peter’s collecting journey, which established their abiding interest in non-objective art and geometric abstraction. This will contrast with a selection of works collected by them over the last three years, which also encompass conceptual practices, sculptural objects, and gestural abstraction, as well as filling in historical gaps in their collection. As such, the selection of works for the JAHM exhibition can be said to ‘frame’ their collection.

In addition, since 2013, Susan and Peter have presented ten acclaimed exhibitions in their in-house gallery space, Spare Room 33, draws from their collections of works on paper, artists’ books and catalogues, concrete poetry, exhibition posters and contemporary jewellery. JAHM will re-present one of these Spare Room 33 shows as part of the timeFRAME exhibition.
